Worrying is something all of us struggle with from time to time, some more than others. It’s hard not to worry, especially when facing situations with an uncertain outcome.
It’s human nature to want to know all the answers. And when we don’t have all the answers, our minds start to worry. However, worrying is a futile and fruitless activity. God wants us to enjoy life, not waste it worrying about it!
Here are several reasons why we need to stop worrying as much as we do:
- Worrying is bad for both your mental and physical health. It has a negative impact on your mind and your body. Not only can it make you sick, it can leave you with an overall sense of doom and hopelessness.
- Worrying cannot get you where you want to go in life. It cannot solve any of your problems or change your situation.
- Worrying is a clear indication that you are not trusting God. Instead of worrying, take time to pray and talk to God about your concerns.
In short, worrying has never solved a single problem for anyone. In fact, it only complicates them. Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its trials; it only empties today of its triumph.
The bottom line is this—when we worry about the future we become unfruitful in the present. Although we do not know what the future holds, we know Who holds the future.
