“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
Christmas means different things to different people. Unfortunately, far too many people have become jaded by the commercialism and consumerism of the season, instead of focusing on its true meaning.
The real message of Christmas is not even about the gifts we give to each other. Rather, it is a reminder of the gift that God has given to us—His Son Jesus Christ.
The birth of Christ was a demonstration of the Father’s love for us and it marked the beginning of our freedom. This gift was unique in the fact that God wrapped Himself in human likeness and dwelt among us.
A gift, however, is not yours until it has been received. Jesus is the ultimate gift that must be received and unwrapped. If you haven’t done so already, I encourage you to accept the greatest gift of all this Christmas—a gift that will not break, rust, or fade away. Jesus is the only gift that truly keeps on giving.
