“…There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.” – Acts 20:35 (GNT)
Did you know that the most enjoyment you can ever have with money is to practice giving? Buying stuff is not bad; it just doesn’t create true joy and happiness.
Studies have shown that you can have momentary happiness when you are the receiver. But when you are the giver, you have longer-term happiness. In other words, receiving may change your circumstances, but giving will change your character. It changes who you are and how you live your life.
You cannot ever be the same when you live as a giver. The more generous you are, the more your character is being transformed. You move on the spectrum of being selfish to being selfless. Something in you lights up when you commit to helping others and being a blessing.
Today I challenge you to make giving a part of who you are. We are made in the image and likeness of our Heavenly Father. Since God is a giver, we should emulate Him. Let’s learn the power of living life with an open hand and embracing the freedom to give and help make a difference.
